Nancy Harriet Lee (Donaldson) 1932-2019
Nancy passed away peacefully at the Queensway Trillium Hospital on Tuesday Nov. 26th, 2019 at the age of 87 years.
Born Nancy Harriet to parents Celtic and Minnie Donaldson she grew up in the Beaches district of Toronto. After graduating from Malvern Collegiate Institute Nancy went on to train as a nurse at the Toronto Western Hospital. In the fall of 1955 she wed Jim Lee and shortly after that their son Danny arrived on the scene followed closely by their daughter Kathy. Jim’s career in the oil industry took them coast to coast across Canada and resulted in the making of numerous lifelong friendships. In 1978 one final move brought them to Lorne Park where they settled and Nancy became an active member of The St. Stephens on the Hill United Church. Over the years the family grew and Nancy and Jim were blessed with the arrival of grandchildren and subsequently great grandchildren. As a member of the Ontario Genealogical Society Nancy amassed a wealth of knowledge and a legacy of recorded history of both hers and Jim’s families.
In her earlier years Nancy enjoyed spending time at the family cottage on Big Clear Lake in Arden. She loved reading, books, German Shepherds, garage sales and taking photos but most of all she was a true patriot who loved everything Canadian, especially blueberries, butter tarts and maple syrup. Her cheerful and positive nature will be missed by all who knew her.
Nancy leaves to mourn her husband Jim of 64 years. Her children Danny (Susan) and Kathy (Brian). Her grandchildren Arden, Thomas, Matthew, Siobhan and Evan. Her great grandchildren Owen and Everett.
