Obituary for Joe Gordon Victor Hore

Joe Gordon Victor Hore
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joe Gordon Victor Hore. Joe was born July 10, 1946 and died peacefully after a long courageous battle on August 21, 2020 at the age of 74 with his loving family by his side.

Joe was with the Mississauga Fire Department for 33 years and retired a proud Captain. He genuinely loved all sports. He was passionate about the Toronto Maple Leafs, Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Argonauts. In his younger years he played professional lacrosse with the Peterborough Lakers and Montreal Canadiens as a lead goal scorer and was also invited to tryout for the American Hockey League (AHL) for the Providence Reds. He was considered a Mentor to many when it came to his ability to play sports and his passion for the game. In addition to playing Joe also went on to coach the Mississauga Junior A Lacrosse Team. Later in life he loved playing golf with his friends and going out to the arenas to watch his Grandsons play hockey.

Joe was a very private person who loved being at home. You would most often find him in his favorite lazy boy chair watching sports with a beer in his hand. This is what truly made him happy. He was a kind well respected man to all who knew him.

Beloved husband of Franca for 53 years, loving father of Tammy (Ron) and Jody (Willie) and loving grandfather to Madison, Zachary, Hayden and Jordan. Predeceased by his Brother Brian and Sister Linda.

The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. McFadden, Dr. Rodgers, Dr. Bebawy and the Nurses on 6 South at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. A special thank you to Nurse Liz, who was our angel on earth during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Oakville Hospital Foundation, Cancer Clinic by calling 905-338-4642 or visiting www.oakvillehospitalfoundation.com.
