Obituary for Gale Zaritzky (Brown)

ZARITZKY, Barbara Gale (Brown) After a valiant struggle with rheumatoid arthritis, Gale found peace on Saturday, May 24th, 2008 at Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital. Devoted daughter of the late James and Aileen Brown. Beloved mother of Gregory (Dina), David (Jenni) and Tanya (Don). Cherished grandma to Evan, Avery, Parker and little Penelope. Dear sister of Gary (Joey). Fondly remembered by her niece Lisa, nephews Bradley and Cameron (Emily) and her many cousins. Gale's generosity, wisdom and compassion will be missed by her family and friends. She had a remarkable ability to inspire and to touch the lives of others in her own special, soft-spoken way. Following a private interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, family and friends are invited to celebrate Gale's life at one of her favourite parks, Gairloch Gardens in Oakville (1306 Lakeshore Rd. East) on Friday, May 30, 2008 from 3:30-7 p.m. She found tremendous comfort during her visits to the lake and she enjoyed the beauty of the surrounding gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to Harmony Hall Centre for Seniors in East York (where Gale worked tirelessly to help others) or The Division of Advanced Therapeutics at Mount Sinai (its ground-breaking research profoundly improved her quality of life - call preferred at 416-586-8203 ext. 3936) would be appreciated.
