My dear Shannon & the Grosvenor family; Please accept my heartfelt condolence on the passing of your father. Sam & I marched together in the Optimist Lancers and Oakland Crusaders. I have been marching with the Optimist Alumni since 2003. When he found the Corps I figured he would most certainly spice it up. And he did. We will miss his presence sadly. I truly, truly hoped that my efforts in performing CPR on your father, until the Paramedics arrived, along with their relentless efforts would have brought him back. But it did not. I stood by close to your father the entire time - watching over him - he was not alone. The entire Corps too, waited anxiously over on the drill field. Throughout it all, I only thought of you, Shannon; and how your life would soon be radically changing...So please take heart: the worst is now over. It will get better one day at a time.
