Obituary for William Mclaren Millar

William (Bill) McLaren Millar – 1938-2023
Bill Millar passed away peacefully on June 17 th , 2023 at Mississauga Trillium Hospital with his wife of 54 years by his side.

William is survived by his loving wife Jane (nee Quin); his two sons Quin (Karen) and Stephen (Jackie); his brother Bruce Millar and sister in-law Sandi Blom. He was a loving Papa to Everett, Malcolm, Jacob and Cole; as well as uncle to his nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

An avid storyteller, he most enjoyed recounting his youth in Port Credit with his brother, the many meaningful friendships he curated, and, from time to time, his successful golf game. A graduate of Port Credit High School and Waterloo Lutheran University he took great pride in the many football teams he led as quarterback. However, his greatest delight was the time spent with his family, sons, and grandchildren. His full life was complete with many travel adventures, a 29-year sales career at Xerox (1965-1994) and a 50-year honourary membership at Credit Valley Golf and Country Club in Mississauga (1972-2023).

In celebration of his life, there will be a reception on Sunday June 25, at Credit Valley Golf and Country Club from 3pm-6pm.

In an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in William Millar’s name can be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Trillium Health Partners: http://supporting.trilliumgiving.ca/goto/BillMillar (please copy and paste the link)
