Obituary for Samuel McEwan

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Samuel McEwan on July 24, at Credit Valley Hospital, Mississauga. He was the beloved husband of his late wife Hetty, married 59 years. Loving father to sons Tom (Jan), Ed (Anita) and Dave (Nancy). He was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Carley, Robert, Curtis, Stephanie, Mitchell and Bradley. Also had the fortune of having 3 great grandchildren, Wyatt, Angus and Daphne.

Sam was born in Irvine, Scotland on November 8, 1931. He immigrated to Canada in 1957 to secure a better life for his family. He quickly obtained a job at the Texaco Oil Refinery in Port Credit, Mississauga. Over his 36 year career, he received multiple promotions becoming a Plant Manager due to his hard work and dedication.

Sam was a terrific father to 3 sons Tom, Ed and Dave. He spent countless hours driving them to hockey games/practices and even coached minor soccer for them. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and later great grandchildren. He also really loved going to his condominium he purchased in Indian Rocks Beach Florida over the years.

His affectionate personality, laughter and kindness was evident to everyone he met. He will be sadly missed but will be remembered forever in our hearts.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Credit Valley Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
