Obituary for Petronella ‘Nels’ Agatha Hamilton (Klevant)
Petronella “Nels” Hamilton, a lovely lady, passed away peacefully, November 3, 2021 at age 98. She will be remembered for her warm smile, calm presence and wanting to "help you" demeanor. Beloved wife of the late Donald Hamilton (2000); cherished mother of Peter (Leana), Charles (Susan) and Anitra; loving sister to Lies and predeceased by sisters Ria and Franke.
Born in Medan, on the Island of Sumatra in Indonesia, Nels was sent to school in the Netherlands just before the start of World War II. It was there that she met Don who was with the Canadian Forces that helped liberate Holland. Nels came to Canada knowing only Don and during their 55 year marriage together, raised their family and made many life-long friends. She shared great laughs with family and friends, including the ladies she met while teaching “Keep Fit with Nels” classes and her wonderful neighbors. She will be missed by all.
