Obituary for Mary Catherine Savage

Mary Catherine Savage
Mary Catherine Savage (O'Brian)
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Catherine Savage. She passed away peacefully at age 77 on the afternoon of Tuesday March 24, 2020. This was also her late son's birthday.

Only 10 weeks prior we were given the devastating news of lung and brain cancer. Seemingly out of nowhere, what a blow that was to us all. She put on a brave face and did what she had to do for those of us around her. It was a very aggressive battle for such an otherwise very healthy and active woman,

She was always walking into town or staying active on her treadmill. Her family will miss her love of talking Politics. She also loved watching Forensic Files shows and tending to her front lawn and gardens. Her husband John has some big shoes to fill with maintaining the best grass in the whole neighborhood. Mary and John enjoyed shopping at their favorite shops most days and visiting their family in Milton.

Beloved and devoted wife of John Savage. They were just about to celebrate their 50th wedding Anniversary. Dearly loved mother of Priscilla and the late John Jr. Equally as loved mother-in-law to Priscilla's husband Neil. Proud beyond compare, grandmother to her only grandchild Allison.

We'd like to extend special thank you's to the Mississauga Hospitals Oncology Dept. and The Dorothy Lea Hospice of Mississauga.

Due to the current COVID 19 situation, our family has been instructed not to hold any visitations. Sadly we are also unable to proceed with regular funeral mass. We will only be holding a private, very small ceremony for immediate family. As much as we would like to have the extra support of family and friends at this time, we have to hold off on any gatherings until the global situation improves. We plan to hold a Celebration of Life get together at a later date. Please connect with the family for updates on this.
