Margaret Elizabeth Crawford
MARGARET ELIZABETH CRAWFORD (Gardner) 1929 - 2019

Elizabeth passed away peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, on Sunday October 27th, 2019, at the age of 90.

Born Isabella Margaret Elizabeth Howe to parents William and Laura Isabel Gardner, Elizabeth grew up in Montreal, Quebec. As a young girl, she developed a passion for figure skating, and often talked about her times at the Mirror Lake Inn in Lake Placid, NY skating with Dick Button and Barbara Ann Scott. After finishing High School, Elizabeth decided to pursue her love for food and so enrolled in the Home Economics program at MacDonald College. It was here that she would meet Allan Crawford, whom she would marry in 1952. After several moves, they finally settled in Port Credit, ON, where they raised their 5 children. Elizabeth was an active member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, a member of the Mississauga Quilters Guild and a volunteer at the Trillium Health Center.

Elizabeth leaves to mourn Allan, her husband of 67 years. Her children: Michael (Peggy), David (Jane), Marilyn (Shaun) and Laurel (Cory) along with 17 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Ian (Fran) and her brother John Robert Gardner.

The family would like to thank Silverthorn Care Community of Erin Mills for their efforts in making Elizabeth comfortable and their continued loving support.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to the Parkinson’s Foundation or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
