Obituary for June Lillian Fraser

Fraser, June Lillian
Passed away on February 18 th , 2022 at 98 years old, predeceased by her husband, Jim Fraser

June grew up in Ottawa, married, moved to Matachewan and then to Kirkland Lake. Jim told
her that the streets in the north were paved with gold. She arrived to find oxen delivering water
door to door, a big change for a city girl. They had three children, Heather Kelly, Laurie Dinan
and Susan Fraser.

An avid reader, June also loved to sew especially  doll clothes to sell at church bazaars. She
had a lovely voice singing many solos as a choir member.  She enjoyed working as a secretary
for March of Dimes.

After Jim’s death, June moved to Port Credit where she continued volunteering for the hospital.
In later years, she moved to The Waterford Retirement Community and, after a fall, to Barrie
Manor.

The only child of Laura and Wilfred Bond, June is survived by 9 grandchildren and 21 great
grandchildren.

As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a celebration of life with
her family this summer. June will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Kirkland Lake
Cemetery.
