Condolence: So Sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I worked with Joe at the fire department and he was one of the genuine guys that everyone really liked. A pleasure to work with. The world needs more guys like Joe. My sincere condolences.

Condolence: I loved my brother in law Joe and will miss him dearly. Every time we saw him he would always ask how we were and took that special time to reconnect, with a smile of course! My late husband, Jim, described Joe as having a heart of gold, which he did. Looking back over the years, I remember a time when Martin, who was little at the time, and I were at Balm Beach for a week with Joe. He was there painting and we were there to hang out and relax. I feel blessed that we got to connect each evening over dinner and had a wonderful time chatting and discussing every topic under the sun. Many Christmases, Easter and Thanksgiving were spent with Joe and the family and it was always a pleasure to get caught up and share in the family moments. My sincere condolences to Franca, Tammy and Jody and their families.

Condolence: Joe and I joined the same year, he went to a different shift and and Firehall but every time that we ran across each other it was always a handshake and and a “ good to see you “. He will be sadly missed.

Condolence: My first shift at headquarters and meeting Joe, I knew there was something special about him. As a rookie, Joe helped and guided me on the job. Everyone looked up to him.His personality and smile was contagious. This is a sad day. My sympathy and condolences to Joe's family .

Condolence: I was fortunate enough to know Joe through work at Mississauga Fire. While I was quite junior to Joe, he always remembered my name and treated me with respect, which for a new guy on the job was tremendously welcoming. As a younger firefighter I had to go to Joe's hall to give a talk on mental health and was quite intimidated. Afterwards Joe came to me and thanked me and said he wish this would have happened years earlier when he was on the squad. His kind words were greatly appreciated. After he retired I would run into him at the arena, watching his grandkids playing, and he would always ask how my kid was doing. Sorry for your loss.

Condolence: So sad to hear of my cousin Joe passing. I remember when Joe played hockey for the Milton Merchants hockey team and I would always cheer for Milton although I was a Georgetown boy . RIP Joe.

Condolence: We have many fond memories of time spend with Franca and Joe. Rick enjoyed celebrating the victories of the Argos with Joe and debating strategy during the Argos struggling seasons. We count ourselves lucky to have met them when we were all newcomers to Creemore back in 2003. May fond memories bring comfort to all in Joe’s family.

Condolence: He always had time for me growing up. Joe had tremendous natural athletic skills. Very sad news. Thoughts are with Franca and family. Sad to be so far away. I will, as always ,think of him often.

Condolence: Joe was my first hero as a kid. Playing catch in the backyard, watching him play lacrosse. Such a nice person. We spoke last summer and shared memories. He was my big brother.
