Joao Carlos Esteireiro passed away peacefully at Trillium Health Partners Hospital in Mississauga, on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019, in his 84th year.

Loving husband of Sophia (nee Almeida) for 55 years. Beloved father of Joe Esteireiro and John Esteireiro (Elise Coppens) Tracy Brace (John Brace)

Proud grandfather of Katrina, John, Andrew, Cadence, Britney, Isabella, Sophia, Ethan, Olivia

Brother of the late Lourdes Pimental (Antonio), Tobias Esteireiro (Éduarda), Louis Esteireiro (Zelia), Dos Anges Viera (Jose Maria)

Dear son of the Late Jose and Georgina Esteireiro

Joao Esteireiro apprenticed the trade of Painter in Sao Miguel Azores Portugal. Shortly after being married in 1963 he went on to work on the island of Bermuda. In the late 60’s Canada was looking for skilled tradespeople. He applied to immigrate to Canada and Canada granted him landed status. In 1968 he brought his family and from there he built a successful life for him and his family in his new county. He and his loving wife raised their family in Mississauga. All three of his children completed University and are busy with their lives and families. Joao and his brothers built their own cottages close to each other in the town of Wasaga Beach. For a number of years, they looked forward to weekends and the summer months where they could spend time with each other and together with family and friends.

Friends may call at the Skinner & Middlebrook Funeral Home, 128 Lakeshore Rd E, Mississauga on Monday, May 6th, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, May 7th 10 am followed by internment at Springcreek Cemetery.
