Jo Anna (Kitty) Whittaker (nee Horsley)
November 17, 1939 - June 1, 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Jo Anna(Kitty)Whittaker (nee Horsley) on June 1, 2022 in Mississauga, Ontario. She is predeceased by her loving husband Norman Whittaker, dear mother to Jeff(Catherine) and Wendy(Randy) and loving grandmother to Justin, Christopher, Sarah, Michael and Emily. Predeceased by her sister Pamela Lacas. A loving aunt to many nieces and nephews and their families.
Born in Montreal to Doris (nee Robson) and Norman Horsley. Kitty and her family lived in Tetreaultville, Quebec. After high school she was employed by Bell Canada. Once her children were born, she became a stay at home mom. In 1979, Kitty and Norman moved from Kirkland, Quebec to Mississauga, Ontario. Her strong faith led her to join St Thomas a Becket Anglican Church. A church community that she cherished.
After Norman passed away in 1994, Kitty started her career at Cantwell Cullen. She enjoyed her work and especially her wonderful coworkers. She retired at the age of 75!
Above all, Mum (Kitty) was a kind, caring and gentle soul. The most loving mother a child could ask for.
She will be deeply missed by her children, family and dear friends.
In lieu of flowers , if so desired, donations can be made to International Fund for Animal Welfare(IFAW) or Amnesty International.
