Condolence: Fred Piercey was a stand-up guy. Like my old friend Dave Kemp, I first met Fred at Graydon, our high school. A few of us reprobates formed the Bozos around 1970. I remember hearing Elvis on 8-track for the first time in Fred’s car. He drove a crowd of friends to Sherkston Beach for some summer celebration. We used to rib him for his Newfoundland heritage, an honour I also share with him, which he took in good spirit. Having lived half my life in St. John’s, I know Fred was blessed with the best the world could offer both bayman and townie. Fred was generous to a fault, a good man in a pinch. I was hoping we’d all get together for a 50th reunion, but some of us will have to wait for the next phase. Rest in peace, Fred.

Condolence: With sorrow and deepest condolences we send love and blessings to the family.
Fred possessed great generosity of spirit and insight into making moments count with others.
In recent times, he had courage for each new day and strength to face his journey - he will be so greatly missed. Wishing peace and comfort to all those that were fortunate to know him.

Condolence: Fred and I met 8 years ago in the nursing home both of our mothers were in. We became friends and continued our friendship after our mothers passed.
I will always remember the great times we shared - like the CNE, where we’d spend the whole day and evening, Canada Day celebrations, the Southside Jazz festival - listening to our favourite band, the Waterfront festival, the Zoomer show where we danced for an hour to the music of the 60’s, going downtown on the GO train to the Eaton Centre and Queens Quay, the Home and Garden show, playing games with my grandsons at Chuck E Cheese, going to a movie, bowling, or just going for a walk or into a mall and people watching. Fred was always up for anything and always said it was going to be a great day - and it always was. We had so so many wonderful times.
He was the BEST friend, and I will never forget him and will miss him always. I am so grateful to have known him. He was such an upbeat, kind, generous and positive soul.
As Eddie said, he was “one of a kind”.

I will always remember you Fred, with lots of love.

Condolence: Fred sat across from me in Mr. Pelligrini’s grade11 wood shop class at Graydon, and we had some laughs. Over the years since then Fred and I crossed paths only a few times, but it was as if no time had passed and we were still in grade 11 wood shop. Freddy’s genial spirit and ready sense of humour stand out for me and anchor my memories. I am grateful for sharing some good times with him. Cheers, Freddy.

Condolence: My prayers go out to all of Fred's family and friends at this very difficult time. He was such a gentle soul who was an important part of my father's life. I still remember visiting him and Alice when I was a little girl. They were both always so kind.
May the memories of Fred live on in our lives and be the strength we need in difficult times. RIP Fred

Condolence: What does one say about a guy who was always there for you?
Whenever you needed a hand?
......or an ear?

Fred was always dedicated to his family!
Like helping his mom, Alice,
giving her a superb quality of life into her 90s!

Fred was always very supportive of his friends!
Lucky for me, this big-hearted guy always had my back!
.............for that I am eternally grateful!

Thank you Fred, for being one of my best friends!
I have really been so very lucky to have had you in my life!
You Fred, have made me a better person!
You Fred, have made me a better son!
(something my 98.5 year old mother appreciates daily!)

Like a prized treasure,
Fred’s love will live on in our hearts and minds forever.......

Harn!

Freddie, I LOVE YOU ALWAYS,
Art
