O’Brien, Doris, Emma (1929 - 2019)
Doris passed away peacefully at Sheridan Villa, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the age of 90.
Devoted wife of Alphonse (predeceased) for 40 wonderful years. Proud mother of Lynda (John), Jeanette (Germain), Michael (Susan), Susie, Dennis (Wendy). Loving sister to Eveline Fougere (Emery predeceased), Francis Landry (Laurina predeceased), late Aline Landry (Herve predeceased), Edmee Leblanc (Danny predeceased), Emile Landry (Irma), Anna Leblanc (Clarence), Jean-Louis Landry (Lise), Pierre Landry (Cheryl).
Proverbs 17:6. Children’s children are the crown to the aged and parents are the pride of their children.
Cherished by her 11 grandchildren: Bobby, Jamie, Ian, Joey, Luc, Sandra, Michelle, Robert, Kelly, Amy, Ryan; as well as her 16 great-grandchildren: Brooke, Katie, Owen, Kurtis, Ryan, Emilie, Mireille, Rosalie, Jasmine, Natalie, Evan, Isabelle, Liam, Nolan, Brinae, Zeke.
Doris was “the best Mom in the whole world” and lived for her family. Nothing made her more happy than to have her family around her. Even through her struggles with Alzheimer’s and dementia, she continued to make the best of her life, always maintaining her compassion and sense of humour. She loved people and loved to laugh.
The family would like to extend sincere gratitude to the staff at LeisureWorld and Sheridan Villa for the impeccable and loving care provided to our mother....which she often thanked them for “from the bottom of her heart.”
Donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society in Doris’ honour.
Mass to be held on Friday, November 22 @ 11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher’s Parish, 1171 Clarkson Road North, Mississauga, followed by a Celebration of Life, at Lorne Park Hall, 1288 Lorne Park Rd., Mississauga.
Christian burial for Doris, will be held at a later date at the Valley East Cemetary: 170 Gravel Drive, Hanmer.
