Obituary for David Craig Haney

David Craig Haney
After a hard fought battle with brain cancer, David peacefully slipped away on December 24, 2019, surrounded by family, at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga.

Loving husband of Claire Haney (nee Harrison). Beloved father of Craig (Lori) and James. Adored grampa of Caleb and Caitlyn. Dear son of Basil (d. 2011) and Lynne Haney. He is survived by John (Jo-Anne), Mike (Kelly & niece Meredith), Ryan (Becky), David (Irene) and Christine. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law, Nancy Bush (Harrison).

David enjoyed an over thirty year career with Bell Canada. He made many long-term friends and was a mentor to many younger techs over the years. Including his son, Craig, among them.

Dave’s passion was driving. He was an avid Corvette enthusiast and many bonds were formed with those who shared his love for cars and the open road. Each summer was filled with road trips - whether day drives or taking back roads exploring the States. In recent years, Dave became a fan of ATV riding. He relished the challenge of a difficult off-road trail. He formed some terrific friendships with others who were also in pursuit of the next great ride.

Special thanks to the caring, attentive staff in the Palliative Oncology department at Credit Valley Hospital. In particular, Karen Coleman, Nurse Practitioner-Neuro Oncology, whose compassion and guidance helped us immensely throughout Dave’s journey.

Visitation: Please join us Friday, January 31st from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Skinner & Middlebrook Funeral Home, 128 Lakeshore Road, East, Mississauga, ON L5G 1E4
