Obituary for Carl Conrad Morrison

Carl Conrad Morrison
CARL CONRAD MORRISON

September 13, 1936 to January 20, 2019

MORRISON, Carl Conrad – age 83, of Mississauga, passed away January 20, 2019, at his home. Born in Middleton, Nova Scotia, he was the eldest son of the late Stanley and Marguerite (Jackson) Morrison. During his high school years, Carl was goalie for the Middleton Regional High School hockey team. He loved hunting and fishing with a cousin, Ron White of Middleton, N.S. Carl was also a help to Gladys Reagh with horses and horse shows, even driving the horse trailers to the Ontario Winter Fair and such. He was also a Queen’s Scout and attended many jamborees. He then moved to Ontario and attained his certificate as a Heavy Equipment Operator and began driving heavy equipment (earth movers) to build highways, and from there to a position with Canada Post until his retirement. Tending to his garden, puzzles and crossword jumbles became a passion of Carl’s after his retirement, and he seldom missed his daily walk along the lakeshore. Carl was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help, and enjoyed helping neighbours and friends in his community in a quiet and unassuming way. Carl was just that kind of a gentleman.

He will be sadly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. Carl is survived by his sisters, Beverly Johnson, Middleton; Josephine Morrison, Port Williams; Frances Morrison, Victoria, BC, brothers Robert (Joan) Morrison, Guelph, ON; Gregory (Faye) Morrison, Winnipeg, MA; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sisters, Alice and Marguerite Morrison, and brother Stanley Morrison. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 8th, at Skinner and Middlebrook Funeral Home 128 Lakeshore Rd. E. (one block west of Hurontario St.) Mississauga with Pastor Kate Brown officiating. Cremation has already taken place, Condolences may be placed online at www.skinnerandmiddlebrook.com Carl enjoyed his vegetable garden, but not necessarily plants or flowers, so in lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Diabetes would be appreciated by the family.
