April 12, 1934 – October 10, 2022
The family of Bruce William Jones wish to announce his peaceful passing on October 10, 2022 at Sheridan Villa LTC home in Mississauga at the age of 88. Bruce was a beloved husband to his late wife Linda of 65 years. Father to Paul, Tim, Kelly & Michele and a special papa to his twelve grandchildren Wesley, Krista, Natalie, Matthew, Kyle, Ryan, Jordan, Tyler, Dominique, Dylan, Amelia and Ella and to his six great grandchildren Olivia, Caleb, Mason, Hudson, Grayson and Oakley.
Bruce is survived by his brother Norse & sister Jan.
Bruce worked at the Texaco refinery in Port Credit for many years. He also drove truck hauling scrap from Toronto to Hamilton while he was waiting to get into the Ironworkers as a welder. Bruce worked on many of the high rises in Toronto, retiring at the age 59.
Bruce grew up in Port Credit and as a teenager hung out by the lake and always dreamed of having a boat. In the early 1970’s, with many years of planning Bruce and Linda decided to build a boat in their backyard on Lakebreeze Drive. The boat was 42 feet long, made of Ferrocement, weighing 42,000 LBS. Lakebreeze was launched 5 years later at the Port Credit Yacht Club. His dream was finally a reality. Dad’s most precious times were sailing Lake Ontario with his family, socializing at the yacht club and living on Lakebreeze for many summers.
The family welcomes you to join them for a Celebration of life to be held at The Brogue Inn, 136 Lakeshore Road East, Miss., Ont. (Hurontario and Lakeshore Rd intersection) on Saturday, November 26th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
