Obituary for Allan Joseph McMahon

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allan Joseph McMahon on Easter Sunday, April
17, 2022 at the age of 72.

After several years of declining health, Allan died peacefully with his beloved wife Audrey by his side at
their home in Mississauga, Ontario.

Allan, the youngest of seven children, was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on February 7, 1950 to
father John Patrick McMahon and mother Florence Isabel (MacDonald) McMahon. As a young adult, he
moved to Ontario, where, with the help of his sister Mary, he met Audrey while working at Christie
Brown & Company.

The better part of Allan’s career was working with Canadian National Railway, retiring due to health
conditions after twenty-five years of service.

Like he dealt with all experiences in life, Allan managed his illness with strength and grace, and wanted
to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible. In his final days, he was surrounded by his
children and grandchildren, whom he adored more than anything else in the world.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Joan Catherine MacDonald and by his brothers
Donald Patrick, William Robert, and John Leo. He is survived by his wife Audrey Jean (MacPhee)
McMahon, children Sheryl Eileen (David) Dundas and Patricia Amanda McMahon; grandchildren Sarah
Jessica Slasor, Samantha Rachel Dundas, Joshua Douglas Dundas, Steven David Ciccolini, and Ava Donna
Ciccolini; sisters Shirley Theresa (Paul) Breton and Mary Eileen (Leonard) McCullough and sisters-in-law
Beverly (William) McMahon and Joyce (John) McMahon.

A visitation for Allan will take place on Wednesday April 20, 2022 from 12pm to 1pm at Skinner &
Middlebrook Funeral Home located on 128 Lakeshore Road E, Mississauga, Ontario. The funeral will
follow immediately at 1pm. All are invited to attend.
