Adele Waltraud Michalski (Thon)
Michalski, Adele Waltraud (nee Thon) Passed away peacefully in her 95th year at Extendicare, Brampton on Thursday September 5, 2019. Adele was the beloved wife of the late Richard William Michalski. She is survived by daughter Yvonne (Clive) and son Richard (Atty), granddaughter Jordan (Ian) and great-grandchildren Jack and Oliver. Adele was predeceased by her older brothers Manfred and Heinz.

Adele was born in 1924 to Hugo and Elfriede Thon (nee Janitzky) in Beuthen, Silesia, Germany. She lost her father at an early age and faced many challenges living through WWII in Germany. She met her future husband Richard in Heidelberg after the war. Their first child Yvonne was born there. The family immigrated to Canada in the early 1950’s seeking a better life. Adele and Richard’s second child Richard was born in Toronto in 1959. Adele had formal training as a darkroom technician and pursued this career in Canada. She worked at several studios not only in the darkroom but also taking photographs, finishing her career working for 3M in their photo lab. She enjoyed her work immensely.

She will be missed by her family. Many thanks to the caring staff at Extendicare Brampton.

We are born of love; Love is our mother.
