Condolence: RIP Andy. He succeeded me as President Toronto branch Naval Officers Associaion Canada. I got to know him well and can say that he was one of those few people who put all they have and more into their interests. He was not one to go for the spotlight ; nstead to have success in doing what needed to be done. He had vision It was nice to know he was there. I will miss him. Condolence: My deepest sympathy on the loss of your husband, Andrew Irwin on behalf of Russian people. While I know that mere words cannot console you, I wanted you to know that for Russian people, Andrew will never be forgotten for his fight against the Germans. Every year in the Russian cities of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk, people like Andrew Irwin are remembered for their great help to bring victory during WWII. I served in the Soviet Navy in Murmansk and I've been in those ceremonies. He is a True Hero for Canadians and Russians. Andrew Irwin will never be forgotten. He was a great sailor and a truly wonderful gentlemen who was formed by his service to his country in the RCN in WW II. Condolence: Blessings on Elaine and the whole family. Andy was a longtime activist through the Naval Assoc. of Canada in supporting our navy and in supporting education in Canada. He will be greatly missed; may he rest in peace.

Condolence: Andy was a quiet man, the type of person that gave so much with no expectation, a grand trait that makes it so hard on all of us when they leave us. While I never heard him say it - " Ready Aye Ready" it was just the way he was and shall be remembered for.

Condolence: Andy was a man who represented the best of Canada to me, through his warmth and through his personification of our history. He served his country during WWII and represented his comrades in Canada and in Europe over the many years since. I will miss the stories that gave true understanding to what happened.

Condolence: I will miss Andy immensely and am eternally grateful for his World War II service that gives us the freedom we enjoy today. He was a great man and his friendship is something I will treasure for the rest of my life.
